Merry Christmas Everyone,
Hi This blog is dedicated to my favorite holiday, can anyone guess what that might be. Wrong, but you were close its Christmas. Yes, every since I can remember Christmas has been my favorite holiday, I remember being a boy filled with anticipation as I and my brothers and sisters awaited the arrival of Santa Claus. I'll never forget the way the house smelled with Mama, in the kitchen cooking up a Christmas Turkey. No, we didn't have Goose, we had Turkey why? Aw, shucks, I don't know thats just the way it was back then everyone we knew had turkey for Thanksgiving and Christmas, it is still a tradition in our house today. As I was saying the house was filled with the smell of pine from the Christmas Tree and Mamas cooking, We sat around the tree reading Christmas Cards. Mama, sure could cook I could taste her Pecan Pie, and her Chocolate Cake with walnuts in it now, "May God rest her soul". I think we as kids went to bed earlier on Christmas Eve than on any other day of the year. You remember. "He knows if you are sleeping, he knows if you're awake, he knows if you've been good or bad so be good for goodness sake." Ohh, you better watch o... remember, man that was fun. So, there I was about 8 maybe 9 my memory ain't that good now but I know I wasn't ten yet because my big sister Fran, was there and she left for college the year I turned ten, I remember that, so yea, I had to be 8 or 9. So, there I was in bed, I was so excited man I could hardly sleep. You see, this Christmas I had ask Santa to bring me a red bicycle. I knew he would do it too because I had been extra good every since I'd asked him, about two months before hand. I woke up, it was still dark out of course it was all kids wake up before daylight on Christmas. The only time it is especially hard to wake up is when school is in session other than that, a Saturday or a no school day. When you could go out a play. Man, you ain't gone be doing no sleepin' so I got up and looked out the window and what did I see. No, not Santa and his eight tiny reindeer I must have missed them because all I saw was my daddy riding on my brand spanking new red bicycle. "What, th... what's he doing on it Santa didn't bring that for him I just know he didn't, it had to be mine," I thought to myself. "Get off my bike, get off my bike", I yelled as I came tearing down the stairs, Dad was cool though, he said he "I just got it from Santa Claus and was trying it out for you." "Can I ride, huh, Daddy, can I, can I ride it now." Boy, you couldn't tell me nothing, the only feeling I got that was close to that was the day I picked up my new Cadillac, and you know when I think about it, it didn't even compare. I don't remember now if I ever said so I'll say it now even though he can't hear me, Thanks, Thanks a million Santa for making that the best Christmas ever. Thank you for listening, and please visit http://www.thechristmascardidea.com Joe B
